I saw a gorgeous coffee table in window of a designer furniture shop. It had a glass top like a triange with rounded corners and a base made out of two interlocking wooden pieces. I love it, but the price tag was outrageous - nearly £1000 on sale. Can I get something similar for less?

I believe the table in question is Tribeca by Isamu Noguchi. It is very popular and there are a few online options to choose from. If price is your main concern you can get a copy with a 12mm glass for £139 delivered from http://www.jmcfurniture.co.uk. If you prefer to stick to the designer’s original spec and get a 19mm tabletop try http://www.thisisfurniture.com - they sell it at £199 delivered.

Wow £1000!! As Gina has mentioned they can be found for alot less, but you do need to enquire about the quality of wood and thickness of glass before buying. I’ve come across some where the glass has only been 10mm thick, and as the design of the table depends on the glass to hold it down and keep it firm the 10mm glass versions don’t have enough weight to keep the table steady. The 12mm would have similar issues. Also some of the bases are not solid wood. http://www.swankyrooms.co.uk do a lovely solid American walnut or Solid Ash version in 19mm. I’ve also seen a 15mm version if your on a budget.
